MANUFACTURING AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Birmingham sits at the centre of the West Midlands' manufacturing base: automotive, aerospace, engineering and the long supply chains behind them. In the city centre, the Colmore Row business district and the streets around it host banks, law firms, accountancies and several national head offices.
The two halves have different documents and the same problem. A supplier's quality engineer writes corrective-action reports and customer responses; a solicitor reviews leases and drafts advice. Both have Copilot on their laptop, and neither has had time to work out where it fits in their day.
For mid-sized firms that run lean, we keep programmes short and practical, built on the documents the team already produces.
WHERE WE'D START IN BIRMINGHAM
Quotes and RFQs
Pulling a quote together from a customer's request and specification, with your past quotes as the reference.
Corrective-action responses
Drafting 8D reports and customer responses from inspection data, for the quality engineer to finish.
Lease and contract review
Property and commercial teams checking documents against a checklist and summarising the points that need a lawyer's eye.
Audit and advisory files
Accountancy teams summarising client files and preparing first drafts of reports and letters.
HOW IT RUNS IN BIRMINGHAM
Birmingham is under an hour and a half from London on the fastest trains. We come in for on-site days at your offices or plant, and keep the follow-ups remote.
On a factory site, most of the document work sits with quality, engineering and customer service. We start there, during their normal hours, and leave production staff on the line.
Week 1: the baseline
Usage by team across quality, engineering, sales and support, or across practice groups in a professional firm, with the documents that take longest.
Weeks 2 to 5: one pilot
One document flow, for example customer corrective-action responses, rebuilt with the tool and timed against the current process.
Week 6, then month 3: the measured change
Hours per document before and after, first-time acceptance by the customer or partner, and weekly users in month three.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We're a manufacturer, mostly on the shop floor. Is AI relevant?
Yes, in the office work around production: quotes, quality reports, customer responses, chasing suppliers. That's where we'd look first.
Can a law or accountancy firm pilot this without risk to client data?
Yes. We work on your enterprise tenant under NDA, inside your AI policy, and start with internal or draft-stage documents if client data isn't cleared yet.
How do you keep it affordable for a mid-sized firm?
By keeping it narrow. A two-day sprint on one workflow starts at £12,000 for up to 20 people, and you only extend once the numbers justify it.
Our sites are spread across the Black Country and Coventry. Can you cover them?
Yes. We plan the on-site days so one trip covers several sites, and run the rest of the programme remotely.
Do you offer AI consulting in Birmingham?
Yes: strategy and governance. See AI Consulting London.
Do you work with SMEs in Birmingham?
Yes, from £3,500 for a leadership half day. See AI for UK SMEs & Mid-Market.
