The page at https://wecallshotgun.com/ai-policy-generator is an interactive generator that runs in the browser. This is a text description of what it asks and what it produces, for readers and agents that don't run JavaScript.

## What it is

A generator for an AI acceptable use policy written for UK organisations. You answer fifteen questions in about five minutes and download an editable Word (.docx) file with your organisation on the title page and clauses that match how you work. Free, no account. English only.

## Your answers stay in your browser

The document is built on your device. Your answers are never sent to We Call Shotgun and never stored. The only thing kept is the email address you give to receive your copy.

## What the policy contains

Eleven or twelve sections, depending on your answers. Regulated sectors get an extra one naming their regulator. Plain English, in the second person.

1. Purpose and scope
2. Approved AI tools
3. Personal accounts and unapproved tools
4. Data you must not enter into AI tools
5. Accuracy and human review
6. Client-facing work and disclosure
7. Intellectual property
8. Requesting a new AI tool
9. Training and AI literacy
10. Incidents and reporting
11. Ownership, review and acknowledgement

## UK framing, and the EU AI Act only where it applies

The policy uses UK GDPR and ICO framing throughout. The EU AI Act reaches companies outside the EU when an AI system or its output is used in the Union, so a UK company with EU customers, staff or operations may be in scope, and a UK-only company usually isn't. The generator asks, and only includes the Article 4 AI literacy clause when your answers support it.
