The page at https://wecallshotgun.com/ai-act-check/ is an interactive self-assessment that runs in the browser. This is a text description of what it asks and what it returns, for readers and agents that don't run JavaScript.

## What it checks

Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires organisations that use AI to take measures supporting their staff's AI literacy. Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, in force since 27 July 2026, turned it into an obligation of effort. It still binds every deployer, with national supervision since 3 August 2026.

You answer 10 questions in about five minutes. You get a Red, Amber or Green verdict, a gap report, and a PDF you can download for your file. The page works in English and French (/fr/ai-act-check).

## The four areas it covers

1. **Know your exposure:** do you know which AI systems are in scope, your role under the Act, and that the obligation already applies?
2. **Train the right people, the right way:** are the right people receiving role-specific, risk-based AI literacy measures?
3. **Make it count and legally sound:** does the training cover real risks and the legal framework, and connect to governance?
4. **Prove it and keep it alive:** can you evidence what you did, and keep it current as tools, teams and the law change?

## What the verdicts mean

| Verdict | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| Red, high exposure | Significant gaps against the Article 4 AI literacy duty. |
| Amber, partial readiness | Foundations exist, but gaps remain, most often in documentation, role-specific depth and governance. |
| Green, strong position | The obligation is ongoing: keep your inventory, training and evidence current. |

## What it isn't

Legal advice. It's an educational self-assessment by We Call Shotgun that covers the Article 4 AI literacy obligation only, not prohibited practices, high-risk system obligations or transparency. For a binding assessment, consult qualified legal counsel.
